Be recycle ready

  • Rinse materials before recycling. Make sure containers are free of food, liquid, and residue before placing them in recycling.
  • Flatten and break down cardboard boxes to save space on recycling and ensure they are collected.
  • Keep materials loose inside your recycling cart. When materials are put into other bags or inside other plastic they cannot be sorted properly.
  • Place your recycling cart out by 7 a.m. on your collection day.
  • Point the front of the cart facing the street and place two feet away from other carts.
  • Place your recycling cart on a flat surface clear of any snow and ice and three feet away from any obstructions.
