Be recycle ready
- Sort your recyclables into two separate containers – Grey Box for Paper & Cardboard, and the Blue Box for Plastic, Metal & Milk Containers.
- Place them loose into the boxes, do not bag your items. The only item that can be in a bag is shredded paper.
- Place your recycling bins at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.
- Flatten and break down cardboard boxes to save space on recycling.
- Refundable containers such as soda bottles and juice boxes
- Metal food cans
- Plastic containers
- No. 4 Plastic grocery bags
- Milk cartons
-
Before you place the items in the blue box, there are a few things you should know:
- Check the plastic type (we accept types 1 to 7; plastic bags No. 4 only)
- Rinse all cans, plastic bottles and containers
- Leave the labels on
- Set your blue box out by 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. Please note weather conditions may delay collection. If you do not have a blue box, clear plastic bags can be used. Please ensure contaminants are not included in your bin or bag. You can contact your local collector for further information. CRSC does not collect material from curbside. It is the final destination for the product you help CRSC sort.
- Newspapers
- Flyers
- Cardboard
- Boxboard
- Phonebooks
- Paperback books
- Magazines
- White and coloured paper
-
Before you put the items in the grey box, there are a few things you should do:
- Remove all plastic liners and flatten boxes
- Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed
- Set your grey box out by 7 am on your scheduled collection day
- *Please Note Request from Collector FERO on Handling Cardboard
- Residents using their grey boxes for recycling collection are asked to flatten any cardboard product that does not easily fit inside the curbside container.
- The grey box is designed for paper and cardboard recycling, but those who collect the items face obstacles with large quantities of cardboard that are not broken down for easier access. Residents can use clear plastic bags for recycled items. Please ensure there are not any contaminants inside the bin or bags.
