Notice of holiday collection change

Recycling collection on the following statutory holidays will be delayed. Please check the collection calendar to view your adjusted collection date.

Christmas Day – December 25 collection moves to Saturday, December 28, 2024.

Boxing Day – December 26 collection moves to Monday, December 30, 2024.

New Year’s Day – January 1 collection moves to Saturday, January 4, 2025.

Place recyclables at the curbside by 7 a.m. to ensure they are collected.
You should put out recycling no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before your collection day and no later than 7 a.m. the morning of your collection.
Blue boxes shouldn’t be any heavier than 22 kg (50lbs) when full. Please use only proper blue boxes (22-,16 and 6-gallons) for setting recyclables to the curb for collection.
You may place shredded paper in a clear or transparent blue bag and tie the top of the bag. This will prevent the material from blowing out and littering your neighborhood.

The City of Peterborough’s Material Recycling Facility is open to drop off recyclables 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
