Circular Materials is pleased to share the Initial Report submitted to the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RRPA) on June 30, 2022, which is available here.
Within the Initial Report we’ve outlined the approach to building a common collection system for blue box material in Ontario with a key focus in mind – establishing a recycling system that delivers value and increases recovery rates.
The report supports producer compliance and meets the following regulatory requirements:
- How the collection system will be established, including any agreements among producer responsibility organizations (PROs).
- How blue box material will be made available for processing and how it will be processed.
- Where receiving facilities will be located in Ontario.
- How promotion and education will be managed.
